The winter season is just about here. I’d like to remind you of our school delay and closing procedures.
I make the decision to delay or cancel school after I review the weather forecast and consult with our Transportation Department. When necessary, the district also consults with the municipalities and other resources within our community. Each decision regarding whether or not to delay or cancel school is made with student safety as the primary concern. I recognize that any delay or cancellation can create hardships for our families and do not take this decision lightly.
The winter concerts are just around the corner. Don't miss an opportunity to hear our talented students perform!
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. This year at the Intermediate High School participated in Project Hang Tough. The goal of Hang Tough is to fill stockings with items that can be gifted to cancer patients. The stockings are then handed out in local cancer institutions in December.
Intermediate High School Best Buddies had their first meeting. The students met their friendship groups and enjoyed a donut provided by the Donut Connection.
Intermediate High School students and staff honored veterans on November 10.
The 6th grade participated in an assembly with Steve Cicero, who spoke to students about the history of Veterans Day. The 7th grade participated in a flag folding ceremony with the American Legion. The 8th grade learned about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with Dennis McMahon. The assemblies also featured the 911th Honor Guard as special guests.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our assembly. A special thank you to all veterans for their service to our country.
