Ms. Meskel's 6th grade ELA students recently won the Third-Circuit essay contest!
The essay topic was about the importance of voting. Fifth and sixth grade students were eligible to apply.
To write the essay, the class was divided into small groups and assigned subtopics to research. Each group created a writing based on their research and then combined their writing into a shared document where students worked together to edit the essay to meet the 500 word requirement.
Senior Owen Maharg and junior Kylee Bernhard organized and planned a great event for current Intermediate High School students. The event -- which was called High School Head Start -- was an opportunity for IHS students and families to learn more about the Senior High School.
Senior High School students attended the event to represent their clubs, activities and organizations. The Rock Orchestra and Drum Line also gave great performances.
Aaron Swory, a 6th grade student at the Intermediate High School, recently won first place in the region for the 6-8 grade division in the Chemistry Illustrated poetry competition.
Aaron will move on to the national contest! In addition, he will receive $50 as a prize.
Congratulations to Aaron!
